that help the estimated 1.5 million Americans that are affected by this unpredictable and potentially life-threatening disease. Walk for Lupus Now is an opportunity for the lupus community to come together, to learn how to better live with lupus, and raise
awareness of the disease in their local communities.

The National Marathon is a Washington, DC race produced by the Greater Washington Sports Alliance to raise funds for local youth organizations that use sports to build character, encourage physical fitness and enhance education. The National Marathon is
certified as official qualifier for the Boston Marathon. The 26.2 mile race begins at RFK Stadium and provides runners and spectators with views of more than monuments and the National Mall. It highlights the best of Washington, DC’s neighborhoods, featuring
six of the city’s eight wards, including portions run through the heart of Adams Morgan, dynamic Kalorama, and beautiful Poplar Point.
There are a number of events scheduled in conjunction with the National Marathon, including the National Health & Fitness Expo and the National Pasta Dinner, held the day before the race, as well as seven Community Spirit Festivals spread throughout the
course, and the Safeway Finish Line Festival to be held on race day.

11 a.m. - 8 p.m. National Health & Fitness Expo, DC Armory, 2001 East Capitol Street, SE, Washington, DC. The free event features more than 50 exhibitors displaying the latest running shoes and apparel, nutritional information and fitness
trends. New this year, a speaker series by health and fitness industry professionals, will be offering training and nutritional tips.
4:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. National Pasta Dinner - location is currently to be determined. $20 adults, $10 children under 12.
Saturday
7 a.m. National Marathon, Rain or Shine. RFK Stadium, 2400 East Capitol Street, SE, Washington, DC.
7 a.m. - 1 p.m. Finish Line & Finish Line Festival - RFK Stadium - Lot 3
Transportation
Many roads around Washington, DC will be closed during the Marathon. It is suggested that runners and spectators use
Metro. The Metro will open an hour earlier than usual, at 6 a.m. to accommodate participants.
